Hero subclasses are pseudo-classes that are in addition to a player's normal class. These classes can change certain things about a player's character and add abilities and proficiencies. There are currently seven hero subclasses.

The Fallen

The Fallen are creatures that have succumb to their baser natures, and revel in their more animalistic instincts. Their actions are self-serving and often are harmful to those around them. Despite this, none can deny the power that these heroes wield. Taking this subclass causes the following changes:

Alignment Shift: If the character is not already evil, their alignment changes to evil.

Physical Changes: Spikes grow from the body of the character, though the exact number and arrangement are up to the player.

Damage Reduction: The character gains resistance to fire and necrotic damage, and thus only take half damage from those damage sources.

Proficiencies: You gain proficiency in the Intimidation skill.

Sin Subtype: The player must choose a subtype based on one of the seven archetypal sins.

  • Gluttony: You take on the sin of Gluttony and gain the abilities below.
    • Ability Increase: Your Constitution score increases by 2.
    • Disease Immunity: You are immune to diseases and ingested poisons.
    • Consumption: Your system can process nearly anything. You can consume any organic matter and gain nutritional value from it.
    • Enhanced Bite Attack:

The Seraphim

The Seraphim have become paragons of virtue, embodiments of goodness and always willing to help their fellows. They are not as combat oriented as some of their fellow adventurers, but are indispensable as healers and support characters. Taking this subclass causes the following changes:

Alignment Shift: If the character is not already good, their alignment changes to good.

Physical Changes: Small wings grow from the back of the character. These wings are feathered and are usually white, but the player may opt for a different color. These wings are not large enough to fly with, but the character can glide with them.

Damage Reduction: The character gains resistance to radiant and necrotic damage, and thus only take half damage from those damage sources.

Proficiencies: You gain proficiency in the Religion skill.

Virtue Subtype: The player must choose a subtype based on one of the seven archetypal virtues.

  • Temperance: You take on the virtue of Temperance and gain the abilities below.
    • Ability Increase: Your Constitution score increases by 2.

The Shadow Dancer

The Shadow Dancers are masters of stealth. They are very mobile in combat and are nearly impossible to keep out of 'secure' locations. They have learned the secrets of the shadows and may move through and between them freely. Taking this subclass causes the following changes:

Alignment Shift: If you are lawfully aligned, your alignment shifts to either neutral or chaotic.

Physical Changes: Your body turns a deep, inky black and your eyes glow softly.

Darkvision: You gain darkvision of 60 feet, allowing you to see in conditions with no light up to 60 feet.

Damage Reduction: You gain resistance to physical damage, including bludgeoning and slashing damage, taking only half damage from these sources.

Ability Increase: Your Dexterity score increases by 2.

Proficiencies: You gain proficiency in the Stealth skill and in the Dexterity saving throw.

Shadow Dance: You can step into shadows, exiting in another place.

Shadow Body: You are able to turn your body into pure shadow for a short time.

Flickering Shadows: A mad flurry of slashing claws.
